Breaking Free...Again

This blog is really about the calming effect that I get by having an outlet in which to complain about the problems I see with government. Those complaints usually have something to do with government interfering with personal freedoms and taking away basic liberties of the people that elected these officials in the first place.

The curious task of economics is to demonstrate to men how little they really know about what they imagine they can design.--Friedrich Hayek

10 Things I would Change In Government Today

1. Term Limits (2 for Senators and 6 for Representatives)
2. Pass the Enumerated Powers Act
3. Pass "loser pays" legal reform
4. Close all Departments in Federal Government except Defense, Treasury, Transportation, Justice, Commerce and State (possibly Interior).
5. Drop all subsidies and supports to corporations and individuals
6. Drop all tariffs and import restrictions
7.No Corporate income tax. Tax dividends as income.
8. Stop withholding taxes from paychecks. Make people write the check every month to the US Government.
9. Force the Government to have a Sovereign Wealth Fund to invest Social Security Surplus in non-government investments. Transition out of a government-run retirement function with private annuities.
10. Set up a dual-rate (8% and 15%) income tax scheme with no deductions.
